Cameronross project pheppie 01

Hydrological assessment of likely flood flows in the Burn of Pheppie near Newtonhill.

Cameron + Ross undertook detailed hydrological assessment of likely flood flows in the Burn of Pheppie near Newtonhill, Aberdeenshire to derive various flood return periods to be used in this flood risk assessment. Utilising topographical survey data gathered by our in-house land surveyors we developed a hydraulic model to calculate potential flood risk to the adjacent development site.

Sensitivity analysis was undertaken on the developed model to provide an assessment of the effect of changes to key parameters to ensure a robust assessment of predicted flood levels.

This detailed study conclude that the development site was not a fluvial flood risk and recommended good practice design parameters such as minimum finished floor levels were incorporated into the final development deign to ensure a suitable development.

Cameron + Ross has a wealth of experience in Flood Risk Assessment in support of development site, delivering numerous studies for a variety of clients from large housebuilder/developers to individual/private developers.
