The Fife Arms
Production facility in Ellon, Aberdeenshire.
Cameron + Ross have been continuously involved with the Brewdog production facility in Ellon. New buildings and a new site were required to start the new production line as the existing one in Fraserburgh was well beyond capacity. Cameron + Ross worked as part of the team to design the buildings to accommodate the productions lines and requirement for future expansion and agree drainage and water connection matters with Scottish Water. The schemes all required detailed planning applications, with Cameron + Ross providing topographical surveying, Flood Study appraisal, surface water design incorporating SUDS, foul drainage design and structural design and certification for Building Warrant. Also involved in one building was an assessment of the COMAH regulations. Buildings require to have sterile surfaces and areas designed in as part of the concept, and we were an integral part of the team to provide this. Within the site are various production lines, restaurant and bars, office space and meeting room and telecommunications areas. Revit design was utilised with design and setting out aspects.
The projects set very demanding timescales, due to the fast pace their industry and their products were moving. The projects required to be designed, approved, and constructed within a very tight timescale. The design team required to work very close with the client team to ensure the concept met the brief and that the concept was deliverable. Costs were also very important and required the QS to work closely as part of the team to investigate and assist in delivering an economical solution. The projects require a collaboration effort from all and C+R provided an important part within this.
